I Was Banned From Fidelity Investments

I was banned from Fidelity Investments after using their brokerage services for 18 years. This happened on April 19th, 2024 when I received an email from Fidelity customer service that stated what took place.

I was shocked!

I opened my Fidelity Investments account when I was 19 years old as a freshman at Dartmouth College during my first summer vacation from school. I took a local job as an assistant to a DC lobbyist Bartley O’Hara in 2006.

I knew the importance of planning for retirement as soon as possible so I decided to open a Roth IRA at Fidelity to start saving for early retirement.

Fast forward 18 years later, I am forced to transfer my assets out of Fidelity into my 3 favorite Fidelity alternatives: Robinhood, Charles Schwab, and Interactive Brokers.

FIdelity didn’t exactly explain why my account was closed but I beleive it’s the result of a heated exchange I had with a Fidelity supervisor.
