Increase Website Traffic with Google Finance

If you have a financial website or ever mention a publicly traded company in a blog post, you can gain tons of highly qualified traffic using Google Finance’s Blog Post Listing Tracker.
Google Finance shows related blog posts underneath the “Discussion” section by pulling keyword rich results from Google Blog Search.
How to Get Listed in Google Finance
In order to get listed in the Blog Posts section, All you have to do is:
- Mention the full corporate name of any publicly traded company
- Include the tracking index and Quote/Symbol of the company.
For example, if you were referring to a Nike shoe product, simply include:
Nike Inc. (NYSE:NKE) somewhere within the blog post.
Nike Inc. = Full Corporate Name
NYSE = New York Stock Exchange, the stock market exchange where NKE symbol is listed.
NKE = Quote/Symbol of Nike Inc.
Remember to Ping Your Blog
Next, ping your blog using Pingomatic to notify all the blog tracking networks. You can do this automatically within Wordpress by clicking “Options” under the admin panel, then editing “Update Options.”
That’s it. Once Google Blog search indexes your post, it should show up in Google Finance immediately.

You’l find over time that It’s actually a bit more complex than that. For example, three blogs, maximum will show up on the Google Finance page. So what happens when 20 blogs have mentioned Google’s corporate name, the correct exchange, and stock symbol?
That is indeed the question. But this post is a good start.

Hi tinu,
Good question. Google only shows 3 links, but also shows a “More Posts” links directly under the 3 posts.
Millions of people use Google Blog Search everyday to find content, so you can still get targeted traffic by appearing in the results for a keyword.
Stocks like AAPL and MSFT drove the most traffic from my experience.
Thanks for your comments!
