How to Disable Vbulletin New Post/Thread Notification E-mails

Vbulletin by default will notify forum moderators about new post/threads through e-mail notifications. However, if you have a large community and/or lots of RSS feed updates in your forums, your inbox gets filled very quickly.
I received over 100 e-mails in 5 minutes after producing some RSS feed updates in my investment community forums. To avoid receiving e-mails for every new post/thread, you can disable the ability to receive e-mail notifications as a super moderator. The complete instructions are below: both in short and longer versions.
How to Disable E-mail Notifications
Shorter Explanation:
Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Show All Moderators -> Edit -> Receive Email When a New Post is Created
Longer Explanation:
- Open up your Vbulletin AdminCP
- Click Forums & Moderators
- Click Show All Moderators
- Find Your UserName under “Super Moderators” and Click Edit
- Uncheck “Receive Email When a New Post is Created”
Vbulletin added this feature specifically for low traffic forums where it’s easy to monitor all the threads. If you found yourself overwhelmed by countless e-mail notifications, then I hope this tutorial solved your problem.
